La Lutine

Two hundred years ago, in 1799 to be more precisely, a famous French ship called the Lutine left the habour in England to deliver an enormous load of silver and gold to Germany. Everything went well until the night of Oktober the 31th. Somewhere above The Netherlands a deathly and furious storm surprised the captain and it's crew. With raging waves as high as mountains and deadly rocks everywhere, it had no chance at all. The ship broke in two pieces and sunk together with all it's members. No one survived and the ship was forever lost. Now somewhere at the bottom of the sea a precious treasure is waiting to be found. Many people tried to claim the teasure as theirs but yet no one survived the lethal vortices or powerful streams. Though the sea isn't the only enemy standing between the people and the treasure. It is said that the treasure is guarded by a yet undefined creature. A ghost. People who actually came back tell stories about a ghost taking the form of a horse. No ordinary horse though. It has a eerie appearance and runs with an abnormal speed. It wears a golden mask and has golden hooves, made by the ship's sunken gold. No one has seen the horse from a close distance but no one dared to either. People named the ghost after ship "La Lutine" and it may became even more valuable than the treasure itself. It's cries can be heard from miles away and at the 31th of Oktober the cries are even louder.....

Happy Halloweeen everybody!!

So what would be a better time to introduce my awesome new ghost character than with Halloween?! Lets meet Lutine, my new mare who guards the leftovers of the sunken ship's treasure. Aannd what if I told you this story is half true hmm? It is true that a ship called the Lutine sunk in 1799 with lots and lots of gold and silver close to the Netherlands, though it was on the 9th of Oktober.  It is also true that no one (but one man) survived aaaaand there are still pieces on the bottom of the sea but it's just too dangerous to go there with all the streams and such. There is also a whole myth about this event but I really wanted to make my own story out of it. I've had this idea ever since I heard about the Luntine which was about three months ago. It really inspired me and I was quite curious about it because it happend close to an island I really love. I actually finished this drawing a week ago but I reallt wanted to submit it with Halloween. It was hard to wait but worth it I guess.
